  • Position Description

    • Ensure a proactive safety program within the work group consistent with company policy in order to provide a safe and secure work environment.
    • Oversee assigned work group to accomplish established objectives by providing clear instruction, proper tools and a positive atmosphere.
    • Ability to educate employees to meet the requirements of their position.       
    • Identify and/or solve operational issues within the work group to provide productive and quality results by utilizing personal initiative and other support groups in and outside the organization.       
    • Maintain open and effective communications within the work group and with other work groups within the organization.
    • Responsible for attempting to resolve errors and notification of management when discrepancies are discovered.
    • Responsible for ensuring assigned work area is maintained according to Ryder’s 6S housekeeping standards.
    • Must have good safety performance.
    • Skills - Must be able to operate a PIT for at least a 12 hour period
    • Certifications – Must be certified according to OSHA standards to operate PIT.

    • WMS experience required; working knowledge of AS400-WMS and Microsoft applications a plus.
    • Ability to adapt quickly in a changing enviornment.

    Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Depending on location, employee may be required to operate equipment and may be required to be equipment certified.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in directing the work of hourly warehouse employees and temporary employees in support of inbound/outbound load auditing and receiving, special projects or ongoing operations of the facility 
    • Ensure inventory records are accurately maintained and discrepancies are reported to the shift supervisor 
    • Keep supervisor informed of any issues that may affect warehouse operations
    • Initiate inbound and outbound audits along with quality and SMAT audits
    • Perform and manage sanitation levels including sanitation audits as required
    • Assist warehouse personnel in the performance of their duties
    • Certify that all employees, visitors and outside contractors are following safety standards
    • Other duties as assigned
