Position Description


  • Accomplish established objectives provided by shift lead
  • Assist when needed with admin functions such as driver paperwork and dimensions
  • Successfully execute and understand different loading requirements assigned by CSR’s
  • Identify and/or solve operational issues within the work group to provide productive and quality results by utilizing personal initiative and other support groups in and outside the organization
  • Ensure a proactive safety program within the work group consistent with company policy in order to provide a safe and secure work environment
  • Maintain open and effective communications within the work group and with other work groups within the organization
  • Responsible for attempting to resolve errors and notification of management when discrepancies are discovered
  • Responsible for ensuring assigned work area is maintained according to Ryder’s housekeeping standards
  • Run & execute queries within Microsoft Access databases & WMS
  • Experience – Preferred 3 years of continual operational experience within last 1 year on a PIT

    Certifications – Must be certified according to OSHA standards to operate PIT, Forklift, Pallet Rider, Reach Truck or Clamp Truck a must

  • WMS experience required; working knowledge of AS400-WMS a must
  • Outbound shipping knowledge preferred


  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of one year of related warehouse and/or powered industrial lift experience required
  • Ability to read, do basic mathematics, understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for the purposes of safety, work instructions, policies, etc.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and walk in high traffic areas
  • The ability to input data into various WMS computer systems
  • Work overtime as assigned


  • Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions 
  • Recognize and correct potential process errors before actions adversely affect the customer 
  • Recognize damaged product at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action when discovered 
  • Pull orders accurately as assigned 
  • Stage orders according to carrier location and verify: number of pallets picked as well as stage location 
  • Prepare receiving, storage and shipping documentation retaining product accountability throughout the logistical process 
  • Be aware of and follow location and work center Safety and Security policies and procedures
  • Performs housekeeping duties and other duties as assigned 
  • May operate fork-lift equipment or other warehouse machinery
